Century Capital are on a high after negotiating a smooth landing for a client who was in danger of seeing a deal to set up a flying school fail to take off. And the business has further reasons to celebrate following the news of two senior appointments.
The company's debut into airport finance got off to a flying start with the completion of a highly-complex and time-sensitive financing for a Monaco-based ultra-high net-worth individual.
Century's client had exchanged several million pounds deposit and was under notice to complete on the purchase of part of a private airport, with the goal of setting up a flying school there to train new commercial pilots and to store private aircrafts.
But when the client encountered significant complications attempting to raise funds from a residential asset in prime central London, Century stepped in at the eleventh hour. They were able to lend the balance required to complete, secured against the airport asset at 65 percent LTV, avoiding our client losing a sizeable deposit and the chance to acquire a highly-niche and rare asset that they’d be unlikely to find again.
Century CEO Paul Munford says the deal is a
"great example of the business's outside the box thinking, with a common sense-based approach to lending thereby enabling a deal that the client had previously thought undoable and marks a great new lending relationship for us".
He added:
“We are extremely pleased to have been able to help this client out of a difficult situation. This is a great demonstration of Century’s versatility and ability to deliver fast and flexible short- term finance.”
The deal comes hot on the heels of two new faces at the company. Century have appointed Gareth Tormajer as southern regional BDM and Holly O'Brien as head of marketing. Both recruits will join the Mayfair office.
Tormajer boasts nearly 25 years’ experience in the financial service industry, predominantly undertaking BDM roles and has worked within a B2C function as an IFA in Surrey after obtaining financial adviser qualifications and CAS status.
Over the years he has built up a network of more than 1,000 connections across south-east England including central London and postcodes within the M25. He has a combination of property and finance experience and is first-hand to this marketplace.
Meanwhile, O'Brien joins with more than 25 years in the industry, and around 16,200 LinkedIn connections! Her hands-on, integrated marketing leadership has proven success delivering brand awareness, targeted lead generation, management support, website exposure and integrated digital marketing trends. She has also created press exposure contributing significantly to the success of the company’s sales and marketing efforts.
A spokesman adds:
"Holly worked in fast-paced entrepreneurial environments and confidently deals with ambiguity that is consistent with creation and development of new products or business ideas. She is passionate about delivering the companies profile to a higher market place, we are very excited to have her on board!"
